All Campus DEI Learning
Virginia Tech provides every student and employee a common learning experience on diversity, equity, and inclusion topics.
Every incoming first year and transfer student is required to complete the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion module within their first two months on campus. This module reflects our commitment to build a strong community where everyone is recognized and respected, as well as our belief that diversity, equity, and inclusion are hallmarks of a Virginia Tech education.
The interactive module covers three main content areas: Identities; Power, Privilege, and Oppression; and Creating a Culture of Respect.
For more information on the required modules, go to https://students.vt.edu/onlineprograms.html
Every graduate and professional program fulfills the Inclusion and Diversity Education Requirement Policy that covers four components: Virginia Tech Principles of Community, Impact of Personal Actions and Words, Redress and Shared Responsibilities, and Individual Introspection.
All full and part time benefitted employees complete the course, Road to Cultural Competency, within 90 days (about 3 months) of receiving the Page Up LMS notification. Faculty and staff can view their course completion status in the Page Up LMS system dashboard. As new employees join the university, the module will serve as part of their onboarding experience.
